I just noticed a 30 second commercial on BBC’s website while I was about to watch a news report. I was surprised to see a tourism advert for the Philippines as I remember the last time the Philippines was advertised on TV, it was more than three years ago with their WOW! Philippines advertising campaign. This time the advertising campaign is called – Live your dream and it doesn’t showcase at all the different aspects of the Philippines. Instead we have an animated commercial depicting these said aspects.
I am glad that the Philipppines is being promoted again on major television networks and on the internet, however, I disappointed at the concept behind the commercial. They should have had something similar to the previous WOW! Philippines adverts in order to showcase the true colors of the Philippines instead of a lousy and pathetic animation. This is just one way of reducing budget costs for the production. Come on guys, I’m addressing Secretary Ace Durano and his team, you could have done much better! What a shame!
